ESCON - round trip?
Hi guys,
Does anybody know what's the round trip multiplier for ESCON?
In other words, how many round trips for ESCON per each write? (1/2?)
Thx in adv.

Hi Krisztian,
You are right. The latency for writes in FC equals 2xRTT. For ESCON or GbE each write requires 1 RTT .
Write Acceleration equipment can reduce latency for FC.

Can you give some more information about your question, like what course you're working on? It also helps to provide more context--where is this question from? What is your current understanding of the question?

Hi Kate,
Actually, I'm preparing myself for E20-026 exam and found and interesting slide about the possibility of RTT reduction in network design depends on protocol.
Does double RTs exist only for Fibre Channel(FCP) without write accelerator in case of each write?
Thanks in advance.
