How long should SupportAssist BIOS update take normally?
Process is running since several hours. Progress beam is full - like it would be at the end. But the progress dots are still moving. Any hint if this is normal would be welcome!

@regweg
It should not take several hours to update the BIOS. I would not recommend using SupportAssist for updating the BIOS. At the very least, use the Dell Update program, but the preferred method can be found in this topic. Note that the USB flash drive has to formatted in the FAT32 format before downloading the BIOS update file.
All you can do now is pray. Restart your computer, and leave it alone. Do not touch any keys, if it resumes updating the BIOS. It is a very scary operation. The computer will reboot several times, appear to be dead, shutting down entirely, and then it will restart itself. Just LEAVE it alone. Touch nothing, and wait. It could take 10 to 15 nerve-wracking minutes to finally restart itself the last time.
Hopefully either the BIOS update will abort and back out; or, conclude successfully. If it backs out, then follow the advice in the topic referenced above; or, you can download the BIOS update file directly from Dell Updates, and save it to your desktop and launch it from there, but the preferred course is not to launch Windows at all so that no software, particularly security software, interferes with the BIOS update.
Good luck. Let us know how you make out. Have a great day.
