Can we create pool with TDAT from different Disk group ?
Hi ,
My customer wants to use FAST VP ....In regards to creating Pool , customer Also need to know if the TDAT can be used from different Disk group ( into same Pool )
By the way ... those TDAT are same size ,same disk type , same Raid type .. The only thing those TDAT differences from different Disk group....
User can add those TDAT into same Pool ?
If above is possible , how many different Disk Group can we use to create one pool ?
Would this be same in K10 /20K /40 ?
thanks

yes, this can be done;
For Symmetrix FAST VP tier there is a limit of four pools per tier.
I don't believe there is a limit on the number of diskgroups to form a pool.
You can add all TDAT into one pool.
There is no difference in the functionality between VMAX models
Edit: tidied up response to be clearer

As Paul noted, this is possible... You may have to do this with SYMCLI though. The last time I checked (about a year ago), Unisphere for VMAX would not allow it. If Unisphere doesn't allow it, you can add the TDATs to the pool via SYMCLI, and then do everything else (TDEV creating, binding, masking, etc) in Unisphere.
