Sampled Average Read/Write time ?

Hello ,

I have recently encountered a performance issue with our VDI environment .

After going through performance manager for those devices , I found that the sampled average read time and Sampled average write time were hitting high during the hit time on the servers ,However my FA pair utilization , I/O on the disks were minimal.

Can you explain me what these Sampled average read/write times signifies ?

and Why am I seeing that hit on them ?

My guess is the IO is coming into the Symm in bursts.   If you can monitor the performance from the host in smaller intervals such as 5 seconds or so, you might be able to see some of them.  Also look for queuing at the smaller intervals.  If you see high IO rates and queues, you probably need more devices (are you using striped metas?) or more FA CPUs.
