the service tag info should have been entered by the technician when the system board was replaced. As for the bios upgrade, see: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/software/smdup/dup63/en/UG/PDF/DUP_UG.pdf

I would like to ask a few questions:
1. who replaced the system board?
2. Where did it come from?

Check the 2nd hit when you search the Dell community board for "asset.com". It has a complete instruction list.

Here is the part of the post that y'all are asking about. Following the link provided in one of the earlier posts led me to this with just a few clicks.

ASSET /d Delete asset tag

Asset.com has to be run from a pure dos session as it accesses the hardware directly.
you will need to create a bootable usb memory stick and copy the asset.com to it, then boot from it. This site may help
