What exactly does the "Erase all Physical Disks" do in the OpenManage application? I expected it to take more than 10 seconds.

What exactly does the "Erase all Physical Disks" do in the OpenManage application? I expected it to take more than 10 seconds.

Thanks for posting! Usually, any erasure process involves writing null data to the allocation tables or metadata for a disk. A data retrieval service should be able to get the data back easily. If you want something more thoroughly erased, try a utility that writes 0's or random binary to the disk, such as the Ultimate Boot CD http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/. There are many other options out there that will achieve the same results, so don't stop searching there.
