PERC6 Battery Learn Cycle

With the PERC6 performing a “learn cycle” every 90 days to ensure cache battery viability is there a way to leverage ITA or DMC to control execution time? My goal is to execute the learn cycle during off peak hours when Write-back cache mode not needed.

Hello Joe,

a possible apporach might be to use the omconfig Battery Commands , with that commands you can delay and initiate a learncycle in a batch for example, save the script as cmd and add a task with time and date to perform via it assistant. for more details please refer to http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/software/svradmin/6.1/en/OMSS/cli.htm#1223230 (I used the docs of opene manage 6.1, you need to install this and you can also find at http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/software/svradmin/6.1/en/OMSS/battery.htm#281241 useful infos in example how to setup the learn cycle via open manage web interface)
Unfortunately I coludnt find infos how to initiate learn cycle directly via IT assistant.

Please respond to post if this workaround helped you to solve , thks

Cheers

Marcus
