Unable to update bmc in r410 to 1.33 a03
Hello. I have tried to update my firmware from 1.15 on my bmc controller to eliminate fan 4 noise due to my perc5/e. I have tried dos. i have tried rhel. i have tried server 2012. It will not update. Error is this update package is not compatable with your system configuration. Anyone have any ideas? My wife is not happy with the noise ha!

Hi,
What link are you using for 1.33? I am seeing 1.15 as the latest version for the R410.

My drac is updated to that, however the fan 4 is still running at 12000 rpm. Is this normal?(I have a perc5/e in the pci slot. ) also. The s300 on board will only see 137gb of space on any drive and I don't know how to reset that so that in non raid form it can see the full space of any drive connected to the backplane.

The order shows that this has an iDRAC 6 enterprise, so try using the iDRAC update as it replaces the BMC. http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=9GJYW

So all of the drives even when not part of a virtual disk show a smaller size?

In the controller or the OS? If it is in the controller, it may be a cable or controller issue.

Yes. I have tried resetting the controller but I am unsure as of how. Sata and sas when either is connected only shows a max of 137gb.

You could try disconnecting the DRAC module and updating the BMC. What size drives are attached to the S300?
