Streak 7 music player stops when opening Overdrive book reader

The music player on my S7 works nicely with all the other apps except for when I open the Overdrive book reader it gets shut off.  I have tried other player apps but no luck.  I did not have this on my last device which was running Android 2.1.  I wonder if this is a Froyo problem?

Everything else works pretty nicely on the S7.
