VMAX - 10k - Creae BCV device
Hello,
I am new to VMAX provisioning, hence asking this.
I know how to create TDEVs, IG, PG, SG, and MV.
Can any one let me know the steps on how to create BCV devices.
Array has Thin Pool created and it contains Data Devices.
Thanks

symconfigure -sid 1234 -cmd "create dev count=8,size=18414,emulation=FBA,config=bcv;" prepare
do you really need BCV attributes, it's doing symclone emulation in the background anyway ?

Hi,
While creating thin devices please use TDEV+BCV option to create BCV devices.
Thank You,

Thanks.
Why BCV devices are not binded to Thin Pools, like TDEVS are required to bind to Thin Pools.

From ECC also you can create bcv device .select volume number, disk type, mirror type, and emulation.click on bcv ,it will create bcv device .now according to meta volume chose same number bvc device and from ecc u can sink and split bcv device .

you need to bind BCVs to pools just like you do with TDEVs. Remember these are not BCVs like you had back in the days (2-Way Mirror BCV, Unprotected BCV ..etc), these are regular TDEVs that have BCV attribute added to them. They don't take up mirror positions ..etc.
