DS8100 to VNX5400

in the process of  migrating from an IBM SAN DS8100 with SSPC based 3 sites replication connected to multiple IBM Power P7 / Power VM  and IBM Blade flex  to EMC VNX5400. Does anyone have experience doing this or have a recommendation/best practice  on how best to move data from IBM to EMC?  The IBM server P7 are running Oracle 10g and 11g based on IBM GPFS filesystem.

Many thanks master...... What about implementing GPFS with powerpath and EMC?

Also any docs or links of implementing Active-Active-Passive replicatio available?

Can ds8100 be attached to a vplex?

DS8100 is a qualified array (for SAN Copy pull operations), see attached. Problem with this approach is that your application needs to be offline during SAN Copy pull ..and depending on the size of your source data that could be a significant outage. You probably know this but just in case, remember that you need to update/install ODM for your version of AIX and then install PowerPath.(unless you are planning on using  native MPIO). Your best resource is Host Connectivity Guide for AIX https://support.emc.com/docu5126_Host_Connectivity_Guide_for_IBM_AIX.pdf?language=en_US

Have you explored redundancy/failover options built-in into GPFS, probably a better topic for folks on IBM forums.

GPFS is a file system so it would be sitting on top of hdiskpowerX devices.  Brief google search shows people are using it with EMC storage.
