How to change HLU on existing LUNs - VNX 5700
Greetings all:
We added new LUNs to an existing Solaris/Oracle client. We gave them (2) new bigger LUNs and we will be very soon removing the previous issued (3) LUNs. My question is how to properly get the (2) newest and remaining LUNs as HLU 0 and HLU 1 to avoid the "LUN Z" scenario down the road.
The (3) LUNs that will be removed are HLU 0 , 1, and 2.
What is the proper path here?
Thanks!

as you know that HLU can only be changed during LUN addition to storage group. Changing HLU for an existing LUN might be an issue for specific OS. What version of Solaris is it ? If you don't want to mess with existing LUNs, simply create 3 x 1g LUN and drop them in the storage group and assign then HLU 0,1 and 2.

What about just adding (1) small LUN and then set that as zero?

some operating don't like empty gaps between LUN numbers, i am not sure if Solaris is one of them.

The OS is Solaris 10. Anyone aware if this can be an issue?
