VNX Block OE 05.33.000.5.072 Unavailable
Does anyone know why I can't download the VNX Block OE 05.33.000.5.072? I wanted to take advantage of the embedded ESRS client, but the download seems unavailable or corrupted.

EMC partners have access to websites where we can download the needed tools and software for doing installs.
In there it is stated that the Package is temporarily unavailable, so they have pulled it from all sites.
Not just the customer facing ones....
Have no clue as to the reason.

not available via USM either, support must have pulled it for some reason.

Ahhh. Yea that doesn't sound good. Any idea on when a new release/fix will be available?

no clue... i recommend that you wait prob 1 month after release until you update your system.
just in case of new bugs ....

Hi,
the reason is.
During update of LCC ( one SP is on .72, one is on prev Version ) the customer data gets corrupted.... you dont want to mess around with that

They released a KB just yesterday.

EMC is proactively pausing VNX upgrades to the 05.33.000.5.072 release.
We are doing this as a protective measure for our customers while we investigate an issue that occurred during an upgrade.
Notifications will be sent as soon EMC determines the root cause of this issue, so that upgrades to the 05.33.000.5.072 release may resume.

Hi,
New OE version 05.33.000.5.074 was released by EMC on 12 Sep. but there is an important notice in release note:
IMPORTANT: Install VNX OE for Block version 05.33.000.5.074 only if your system is running version 05.33.000.5.052 or earlier.
Users that upgraded to 05.33.000.5.074 before must Contact EMC Customer Service and reference TSE T090914FO.
is it possible to upgrade the OE from 05.33.000.5.072 to 05.33.000.5.074?

I guess there was something written wrong... It should mean
Users that upgraded to 05.33.000.5.072 before must Contact EMC Customer Service and reference TSE T090914FO.
EMC engineering confirmed 72 is OK ... There is no need to update to 74.
But you should run the ROBV on all raid groups...( just open a SR ) to make sure you have no uncorrectable sectors. ( only if you re running 72)

Yes you can but its normally not necessary and has no benefit
When you contact customer service they can check whether in your case it would make sense

When EMC released OE 05.33.000.5.072 about 1 month ago, I upgraded our VNX Storage to new version and commit it to new one with no faults. But after a while I checked LLC and Power Supply Firmware Status in USM and according to the following image one of the LLC is stopped on 99%.
If I update OE to new version 05.33.000.5.074, do you think the LLC progress will complete successfully? or new faults will be appear?
