VNX5800 SP has encountered Bugcheck code 0340201a

Hi Team,

We are an authorized partner for EMC. Recently one of our customer's VNX5800 SP crashed with the bugcheck code 0340201a. The system is currently running with the version 05.33.009.5.231. As per the release notes, this issue should have been fixed in the code that they are currently running. Howver, the customer had the SP crash even though they are running at the recommended code level.Now, the customer is concerned why the patch did not fix the issue that it is said to have fixed by EMC.

Hello PBalu,

I would contact support and open a support case so that we can pull some support logs and see why the bugcheck was created and why the newer OE did not resolve the issue.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

The customer does not have active support with Dell EMC. Would you still be able to help because this seems that the bug said have fixed in the code has not been fixed .The customer is unhappy about it.

Hello PBalu,

How log has the system been out of warranty?  What is needed is to review the SP collect logs to see what is going on.  Without a support contract support will not review logs in most cases.
