VNXe3150 Thin Storage for all Datastores

Is it safe to use Thin Storage for all my Datastores? Specifically, is it ok to use Thin Provisioning when I'm setting up storage for a SQL server that has a 900GB database? Also, is it safe to change it to Thin Storage after I already have VMs up and running on that Datastore.
