VNXe3200 : Multiprotocol NAS

Hello,

I'm trying to configure multiprotocol NAS on VNXe3200 and one of the requirements for NFS is a working instance of LDAP or NIS. Can I use AD instead of LDAP?

CIFS part is fine (we're using AD), but I'd like to avoid deploying LDAP just for NFS instance.

Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Hi...

Here is a video on the subject.

Best wishes

Thanks. I don't have any issues with standalone CIFS shares, but only with the multiprotocol.

You need to configure either NIS or LDAP so that the VNXe can resolve numeric Unix UIDs to Unix user names

Thank you Rainer_EMC.

It seems I can't get LDAP part working.

Creating a multiprotocol NAS completes without any errors (AD/LDAP/IPs settings), but when I reach a step of creating a file system I get an error:

In the NAS server VNXE3200-NFS The service LDAP for domain int.domain.org is not configured correctly.

Although at the wizard window all steps are green at the very end.

I'm able to mount NFS share from Linux servers and I can read/write, but when I try to access CIFS share it fails with 'Access denied' error.

Resolved -- I forgot to adjust LDAP schema.

Try diffent LDAP name – I think there was a post here on the support forum that it needed lower or upper case names
