> RAKP 2 HMAC is invalid, Error: Unable to establish IPMI v2 / RMCP+ session

Hello,

The VNXe3200 is composed of SP-A and SP-B. I run connection utility to auto discover the nodes, however the sw did not find any SPs even though it was clear that the PC was sending discover requests (visible by wireshark and FW was disabled)

Later on I came accross with a solution document https://community.emc.com/docs/DOC-49530 which requested to connect to SPs and restart some counters. The console connection was required to be done via ipmitool sw on windows pc.

I tried hundreds of times but it failed, the main reason  for the failure is,

C:\ipmitool -l lanplus -C 3 -U console -vvv -P FCNBC165100388 -H 128.221.1.253 sol activate

IPMI LAN host 128.221.1.253 port 623

>RAKP 2 HMAC is invalid

Error: Unable to establish IPMI v2 / RMPC+ session

Error: No response activating SOL payload

Have you ever come across with a similar problem and do you have any suggestion on how to move on?

Thank you in advance

I have fixed the problem. It was related with the password "FCNBC165100388" When we used the correct password it has been connected.

Hi,

Can you add a -vvv argument to your command? It should provide a more detailed description of what is failing.

Hey Josh,

I am having the same issue when trying to connect with this method. What SN is suppose to be used?

I am using the format "APM00XXXXXXXXX" using the PSNT from the unit

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Thanks for your question.  That should be the correct SN. Was this working previously? Are you able to access with other methods?

Let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.
