Windows 10: May Upgrade Warning
"In a new advisory, Microsoft has warned users that they will need up to twice as much free storage on their PCs to receive Windows 10 1903, the upgrade which finally gives all users control over Windows updates. The new requirement will apply to all versions of Windows 10: Home, Pro and Enterprise.
The new minimum is 32 GB, double the previous 16 GB stipulation of 32-bit Windows 10 and almost 40% more than the 64-bit editions."
Comment:
- I am glad to see that the pending V.1903 update will restore to the home user the ability to locally control updates. Particularly given the poor track record or Windows 10 updates inthe past year.
- As an aside, I note that my first Dell purchased in 1999 with the largest hard drive then available was 36 GB. The Windows 98 SE operating system required only 500 MB of disk space!
- My only question is whether to install this latest version ASAP, or to delay it for one month (my usual practice). It is not a question of the increased disk storage, which is not a problem, but whether this version will be problem free ...

Given their 100 percent lack of testing I would say wait.
They have zero credibility at this point.

Anybody know how (if) this affects the size of a USB stick needed to create a bootable ISO for v1903? Their site currently says to use an 8-GB stick to create the bootable ISO, but with recent updates, 8-GB was too small and even a 16-GB stick was marginal.
If Windows Update can see that USB drives or SD cards are connected to the PC and block the update to v1903, why the heck doesn't WU just warn the user to disconnect/remove all those devices before proceeding with the update...?
Why does MS always have to make things soooo darn complicated? (rhetorical question)
