Fingerprint reader is not detected in my Dell vostro 3468.
System Model: Vostro 14- 3468
OS : Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit

Install "Security_Driver_W1TPN_WN32_4.5.289.0_A00" from dell site for Synaptics
Make sure you have bios version 3.3.0 and disable bios auto update.
Me too struggled for two years until today morning.
