During validation receiving an error on Disk Slot configuration.

The summary error shows:

Has anyone else seen this?

I reset ISM and PTAgents with no luck.

One note….The esxi hosts have be static IP addressed and the vxrail manager as well due to network configuration.  I have done this in the past with no issues.

That is the only thing that is different.

Hi David,

Have you resolved the issue already? Unfortunately we too are facing the same situation.

Can it be that the disks on one of the servers are defective?

Thank you for your prompt response.

Hi all,

what system? Dell, Quanta?

First installation? Reinstallation? Add node?

Code level? Firmware versions? Possible from all nodes.

What are the log messages? Not only last error!

If you provide more information it will be easier to more closely identify the issue.

Cheers,

Siniša

Hi Zina,

Model is Dell E560. This is first installation. Not sure of the build but VxRail version is 4.5.215. Log messages are the same as the error Verifying disk slot configuration.

I don’t know of it’s a hardware or a software issue.

Thank you.

Hi Vaganon,

change the web browser, also you can update vxrail node RASR 4.5.229 and try then.

Hi vaganon,

sorry that is insufficient information. Please open an SR and get help with providing a log bundle. As VxRail is not installed yet, collect logs manually. See KB 333684, section "How to gather VxRail logs thru VxRail Manager VM manually".

Cheers,

Siniša

Hi,

I have faced the same issue on 4.5.229 . What helped was a factory reset from RASR on the build in SD. In my case the VxRail nodes have been running for a longer time without build done, so I assume the vSphere trial licenses have expired. So the RASR helped here.

Slawomir
