Can't install software

I don't know what section of the forum this issue falls under.  I have a new windows 10 xps 8900 desktop.    I had to get rid of my xps  7100 I think it was, because it won't turn on.  I wanted to download the software that I got for that computer to the new computer but whenever I try to register my new computer in the my downloads, nothing happens.  I click register and the button disappears but nothing downloads and no new window pop up.  Nothing happens.  I don't have pop up blocker enabled for it.  Is it because I don't have any software specifically for the 8900 and I can't download ones from the 7100 or what?  I have tried the iexplorer with windows 10 and the google chrome.  Nothing downloads or registers the new system.

PEPPERDERR2,

Yes, it is because it is a different computer service tag number. You can only download the software for that tag number you enter. You cannot add a different tag number and download software for another computer.
