I want Windows 10 back after hard drive failure
I bought a new Inspiron 3542 directly from Dell about 3 years ago. I requested Windows 7 because I didn't like Windows 8. Later I got the free upgrade to Windows 10 and like it. The hard drive recently failed so I replaced it. I installed Windows 7 from the CD that came with the new PC because that's all I have. Is there any way I can get Windows 10 without paying $100 for it (i.e. free)? I don't think I should have to pay for it because the original hard drive should have lasted more than 3 years.

If you've already had the upgrade then you can just upgrade it via Microsoft Win10 download page. It'll work since you had it before they started charging the fee (it uses your motherboard to check)
