Precision M4600 gives errors updating to Windows 10 1809

Hi All,

My Precision M4600 laptop currently runs Windows build 1803.

When I run the update to build 1809 I get errors each time and reverts back to 1803.

Apparently Dell have not tested for compatility with 1809 so when will I be able to update ?

Now I am getting a message saying that my current build expires on 14/12/2018 and should change to a later build so hence the query ??

Best wishes

David

What are the error messages?

I have an old Acer netbook running Windows 10 v1803 and I don't have any error message about current build expiring.

Thanks for your quick reply.

Here's a few of the error messages I have had in the last month or so...

Windows 10 Insider Preview 18282.1000 (rs_release)

  Failed to install on 24/11/2018 - 0x800f0955

Features update to Windows 10, version 1809

  Failed to install on 05/12/2018 - 0x80240034

I suspect the build expires message concerns the iInsider build but that referring to version 1809 comes from the fact that Dell have not tested out the M4600 with v1809. Would like to know when that is going to happen (if ever) and if not what can I do to update ?

Best wishes

Dell is not going to test the M4600 with Windows 10.

Since you are so keen on it do a clean installation of Windows 10 v1809 instead of updating. This will clean out whatever gunk you have on the laptop.

You have malware in the DOTNET section.

Error   installing dot net on Windows 10

The software fails signature.

You may check the link below for instructions on running the SFC.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files

If the above troubleshooting step fails to resolve the issue, try the DISM Tool.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/947821/fix-windows-update-errors-by-using-the-dism-or-system-update-readiness-tool

. DISM will help you to fix some Windows corruption errors which prevent you from installing the update.
