Dell Dell Backup and Recovery 1.8.1.71 failure
dell backup and recovery stopped working.. it's the only message that the programs shows when I try to back up on a new XPS 8700 / Win 8.1
I have uninstalled and re-installed twice.
Any idea?

What version of Dell Backup--free or paid? Did it come installed on the new computer? Don't use old versions on the new computer. Make sure you have an external hard drive connected to save backups. You cannot backup to the computer's own hard drive since that is the drive that is being backed up. When the drive fails, the backup fails too.
You don't need to use Dell backup alone. You can use Backup that comes with Windows. It's called File History. Windows also has System Image Backup on the File History page. That will save everything on the hard drive including the Recovery partition. Save the image on the external hard drive.
