Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 Upgrade
Hello.
I just upgraded my Alienware M14X R2 from Win8 to Win8.1.
My question:
1. Is the built-in OEM factory image of my Alienware M14X R2 is updated also or still remain as it is?
2. If i create a recovery disk now, it will create the Windows 8.1 installation or it will still be the same Windows 8 installation?
3. Do i need to create a recovery disk again with windows 8.1 or ?

Hi Vanzelot,
Your Windows 8.1 questions are answered below:
(1) The OEM factory image remains the same
(2) If you have a Dell Backup and recovery premium version only then you can create a recovery disc for windows 8.1.
(3) If you want a windows 8.1 image then you can create a recovery disc for the same (only if you have Dell backup and recovery premium).

Dell backup and recovery, you mean Alienware Respawn?

Hi Vanzelot,
Apologies for my previous response. Yes, as you said Alienware computers have Alien Respawn software so instead of Dell backup and recovery you can use Alien Respawn to create a disc.
