Dell Inspiron 1545 is not supported for Windows 8. Please click the link mentioned below for more information:

It should install most of the drivers automatically. Drivers which may need to be installed are:
Audio
Video
Wireless Network
Ethernet
You may install drivers for Windows 7 in compatibility mode.

Hello. You have posted here on the Laptop Audio discussion board. If you want to know which audio driver to install, I recommend the IDT R312650 driver. As Manshu S said, it should be installed in compatibility mode.
Be aware that Win 8 includes a basic HD audio driver, so you should be able to get basic audio working without having to install the IDT driver, but the jacks might not work properly with the basic Windows driver.
Edit: After I wrote my reply this thread was moved from the Laptop Audio board to the Software board.
