Also read Avast might be causing problems
I used the work around by moving the dell wireless control panel out of windows 32, which solved the problem. But also google: "avast dell windows 7 control panel" to see some results as well. Wish Dell would find a fix.

I have the latest version of Avast and I have Vista 64-bit Home Premium on one partition and Windows 7 64=bit Home premium on the other partition and I have no problems connecting.
Did you upgrade the computer to Windows 7?
Make and model of your computer and operating system, helpful.
What firewall are you using?
