I found a new icon in the control panel. It is Windowa Card Space. What is this and where did it come from?

I found a new icon in the control panel. It is Windowa Card Space. What is this and where did it come from?

For me it came in through Windows Update (on XP) - it's legit.
Basically it's an ID card system for the web, meant to make it easier to identify yourself on web sites. But as of yet I've found no use for it.
