Dell Dimension 8300 Upgrade to Windows 7 from XP

After installing a new internal 2T hard-drive, installing 4G ram, uploading the old XP OS (32bit), all Dell drivers, and updating Windows, I thought I was ready to upgrade to Windows 7. However, Microsoft says don't install it unless Dell confirms that my system will run it. Dell has no answer after hours of being transferred from one dept to another.

Bios date is 9/2004

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU, 3.0 GHz

There are no drivers listed for Windows 7 under the Drivers & Download support page for this model.

I understand that Dell won't support Win 7 after it's loaded.

I've seen a few posts where people are running Win7 on older computers. Do I need to upgrade anything else?

My appreciation for your thoughts,

9 Legend

Radeon 7500 is not even directx 9 card so there will be no drivers for 7.

The XP drivers worked but you have to grab drivers from tue dell site. ATI has some newer ones but while installed the PC drivers jist kept crashing.
