Importing pictures from SD

I just lost my laptop with Windows Vista.  When I replaced it of course it came with 7.  I really like the program that vista had when I imported my pictures.  The editing program was so simple for the basis things.  I have adobe for the complicated things.  How do I get that program on my new computer and what was that program?????
