Need help

I'm sure this is a "dumb" question to ask, but here goes. I am using a Dell pc with Windows 7 Pro installed. On Drive C, there is a "Users" folder. In this folder are 3 "sub-folders".  Can I change the name of one of these sub-folders? If so, how?

Many thanks!

Hi Dmschalk,

I believe you are trying to change the user name on the system. Various users can create different account for themselves and name it according to their preference. You can do it by the following steps:

  1. Click on ‘Start’
  2. Click ‘Control Panel’
  3. Under ‘User Accounts and Family Safety’
  4. Click ‘User Account’
  5. Click on ‘Manage Another Account’
  6. Click on the account name of which you want to change the name
  7. Click ‘Change your account name’
  8. Rename the account
  9. Click on ‘Change Name’
  10. Close all windows and restart the computer

Please reply if you have any questions.

Hi Dmschalk,

Thank you for your response. Since you want to change the name of a sub-account, you can go ahead and change it using the same steps as mentioned in my earlier post.

Please keep me posted.
