New Laptop

My laptop died and I purchased a new laptop but I could not get what I wanted with XP.  I have a XP system disk from my old laptop and want to know if that can be installed on my new laptop?

As Otiss said, "as long as you got the key and your new one is a dell yes". He is correct - it will probably work -

BUT it is not legal. The copy of XP which you received with your old computer was licensed to be installed on THAT computer only. But Otiss apparently sees nothing wrong in recommending "illegal" solutions.

If there are features of the old XP that you want with the new XP, then you should be able to get them separatly from the providers website or a programme disk. You don't really make it clear... whats wrong with the new XP?

Oh... you should have said that you were using vista. Or had it in your signature.
