Problems with login at welcome screen.

I got a vist dell desktop and at the welcome screen it ask for a password and i type the password but doesnt let me in. I never changed password but i still cant get in. is there a way to get in the computer?

Dell cannot help with password resets in Windows Vista. You'll probably have to call microsoft or try going into WinRE with your OS disk and reset it in the command prompt

I just got my Inspiron today and this happened with the password the first login. Can you walk us newbies through how to do this? I'm assuming you mean to change the password in the registry. I was getting ready to reinstall the OS to see if I could change it there.
