RESTORE PROCESS

If one backs everything up, is it a good idea to use the restore option to "cleanse" ones PC? I did it many times with Windows 98. And how long does this procedure take? Took about 1.5 hours with my old operating system. THANKS.

It's a matter of personal opinion. Using PC Restore or routinely reformatting a system to "clean it up" should be unnecessary and a waste of time. However, if you choose to do so, PC Restore takes 10 minutes according to this Dell document.

Is it possible to put the PC restore on your harddrive on a cd or dvd? What if your hard drive crashed and you had to buy a new harddrive? Or you wanted to re-partition the drive?
