REmoving software lines in registry

Hi, 8250 WinXP...just removed a couple programs (Quicken04 & Turbo Tax 2003) via Control Panel, but Turbo Tax did not go. So I deleted the files in the folder in Win Explorer, but I still have Turbo Tax lines in the Registry. Can I go over & delete them? Or is there another way to get rid of all the TT info on the PC?

Thanks.

Linda

Yes you can remove them, but I would strongly suggest you back them up in case you run into any problems.  If your not sure how to back them up a simple search at www.google.com using the search term How to backup Xp registry entries will quickly find you the answer.  Kip

You could also download FREE full 30 days trial of  RegSupreme  or  jV16 Power Tools  from
http://www.jv16.org/

this will delete most unused registry HKEY's.

or RegVac , no need to register.

I downloaded the Regvac, but it really picked up a lot to delete, so I backed off...did the backup of the registry & deleted TT lines..I have done that before w/other things (like NAV), so I was more comfortable with it.

The reason I was uncomfortable with the Regvac's deal is I just formatted a couple or weeks ago & can't understand how so much would need to be removed from the registry...

Thanks again, Linda
