RunDLL Error on Startup

Recently Purchased an Inspiron 1501 Laptop and Dell 725 inkjet printer. Print drivers came pre-installed on the laptop. Installed the printer now I receive the following error meesage whenever the Windows starts up.

RUNDLL
Error in C:\Windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\DLCFtime.dll
Missing entry:RunDLLEntry

I have tried downloading latest Dell driver for Dell 725 but no difference.
I have tried deleting DLCFCats from the registry, but each time I print the registry entry is re-wrtitten.
This seems to be a problem with the print drivers but I am now baffled.

Please can anyone help

Thanks for your response I will try it but I am not sure it will solve the problem as I have done a search for DLCFtime.dll and it is present within the folder and path stated. The RunDLL32.exe file is also present in C:\windows\system32.

As a thought, System was supplied running Windows XP SP2. By installing the Dell printer is there a possibility that the print driver has overwritten some of the Microsoft Windows system files that were upgraded by SP2 and therefore the service pack needs to be re-applied?

That looks like a missing Windows file.  Get your XP disc and from a run command type:

sfc /scannow (watch the space)

The command I gave you allows for all System files to be replaced if they are missing or corrupt. Check Spelling Check Spelling

I seem to have the exact same situation. I think I executed your solution properly, but I still get the same error message.

I also tried the above solution, but it kept prompting me to install a cd that I do not have (ie didn't come in the original boxed shipment).

Tried sfc /scannow as was suggested, but no windows files missing or corrupt. Tried something else which seemed to work. Some of info was taken from message posted by Dell-Gina which seems to have been withdrawn and some taken from a thread on TechArena Community forum.

Created a restore point in system restore.

Ran Regedt32 and searched for Wow6432node key which I deleted.

Searched for DLCFCATS key and deleted that registry key.

Used printer before restarting PC. On reboot the error message didn't display. Used the printer again and then restarted the PC for a second time. Again the error message didn't display.

I am not sure that this a permanent fix but seems to be a workaround that worked for me.
