Windows 8 Key Use
I have an Alienware X51 R2 I purchased last year. I want to build a new PC, thus will need to install Windows 8 on the new machine. Can I use the OEM key from the Alienware to activate WIndows 8 on my new PC? I have extracted the key from the BIOS.
I plan on using some parts from the X51 (CPU and memory), and have no plans to reinstall Windows on the Alienware.

No its OEM and hence tied to the UEFI BIOS of the motherboard,

The Windows key that came with your Dell/Alienware is tied to that system and cannot be transferred. You would need to purchase a new license. With Windows 8, you can purchase a generic OEM version for less than Retail though (this was not the case with Windows 7).
