Windows Server 2003 on a desktop PC?
I managed to get my hands on a copy of windows server 2003. I downloaded from Dreamspark, a student/college developer program from Microsoft.
Now my question is can Windows Server 2003 be used on a desktop? Does it run like windows Xp, or would it be good for a General purpose OS?
I would like to turn my desktop to a server someday. Just looking for anyone who has had the chance or is using Windows Server 2003 (or 2008)

dbtmellis,
FWIW, I have been doing research into 2008 server as desktop. This is one site where there is a good overview of using it this way. The reviewer raves about it
http://www.winoscentral.com/
I am probably going to load it this weekend. If interested, I will let you know how it goes.

WIndows 2003 SP2 is a very stable OS. I am using it daily at work and you can add some theme pack to make it looks like XP. At home I have Windows 2008 on my XPS and it is working fine (I dual boot Vista 64). You will have to purchase or get a copy of business grade Anti_virus software which is not cheap. Most of the AntiVirus software only conver personal OS. I am using it because I do developement works, for personal I do go back to Vista. You can download the Virtual PC 2007 for free from Microsoft and run 2003 image on it. So far, I donot have any driver issues. All PC hardware are Dell made.
