Using Wyse V90L as kitchen computer.
Using Wyse V90L as kitchen computer.
I got a free LCD monitor from work so I bought a V90L on eBay, thinking I could use it in combination with my home Windows 7 desktop to access recipes and music etc in the kitchen. Have I made a mistake (I'm not an IT professional but a reasonably competent user)? It appears that the V90L I have was previously booted off the network and doesn't have Windows XPe installed on it.
Am I correct in thinking that I need to use Wyse USB Firmware Tool to put one of the images available here onto a USB flash drive and then boot from that flash drive as a 'USB-Zip' in the BIOS?
When I do this with "XPE WFR2" (second download on page linked above), I get the error
'Remove disks or other media media.
Press any key to restart.'
Pressing any key, causes the message to appear again, and so on.
My V90L has a 512 MB flash drive and I want to use a Belkin wifi USB dongle and Belkin blueooth USB dongle with it.

I found that using a different flash drive resolved the problem. Some drives can be booted from and others can't.
OS: Win 7 64-bit
Mainboard: Gigabyte GA 790FXTA-UD5
CPU: AMD Phenom II 965 X4
RAM: OCZ Black Ed 2x2GB DDR3-1600
Graphics: Sapphire HD 5770 1GB GDDR5
DVDRW : LG-GSA-4167B
Sys Drive: OCZ Vertex 2, 60 GB
Data Drives:
PSU: Thermaltake 705w / 700W +3.3V 30A = +5V 28A = 4x +12V 18A
