Boston Acoustics 4.0 sound once fixed now bad again *Solved

I bought this XPS desktop in Aug 2017. I've used my Boston Acoustics 4.1 with subwoofer with previous computers which had soundblaster/creative sound cards. I've never like the sound with Realtek but somehow got it decent enough acceptable quality.

The problem is now back where no audio or a dull pitch comes out of the front 2 speakers. This happens after an update by windows or a update by the dell software.

Is there an adapter I can put the green/black/pink into to make use of the HDMI audio on this machine? I've rebooted and updated the 350 mb audio file all day. Even the system restore has failed when it's the only solution that has fixed this issue before.

Thanks

Got sound back in all 4 speakers but the bass and treble issues were fixed with a codec pack. Now it's back to acceptable quality again but the subwoofer has never worked with this soundcard. Buying an external sound card into HDMI which this computer has with NVidia High Def audio.
