XPS 8700, front audio jack, issues with Skype

Hi, I just bought some Sennheisers 598SE & was able to use them with the MOBO's front audio port, but whenever I join a Skype Call I don't get any audio.

I presume it's because the headphones aren't recognized and Skype is still trying to send audio through the speakers?

Is there any way for Windows to recognize headphones w/ this port?

Most applications use "Stereo Mix" as the audio source.  Check the Recording device and if Stereo Mix is not the default, set it as default and see if that fixes the problem.

This assumes you have the Realtek (or SoundBlaster if you have the optional sound card) driver installed rather than the generic Windows installed High Definition Audio as it does not have Stereo Mix.

skype only supports specific headsets like the DA70 adapter from plantronics for example.  Skype is not supported by Dell this is a program owned by Microsoft.

Combined with Plantronics headset and its plug and play.  No Drivers to download for WIN7 8 10.

Then when you go into Skype and check for audio its just there.

Microsoft gets money from vendors to have their devices with the drivers built into windows.

The other one I use is
