XPS 8930, Boot error 0xc00000e
When I turn on my computer it stays on the Dell logo with spinning dots for a few minutes. Then I get an error with. 0xc00000e
Dell XPS 8930 I have been gone for a few weeks computer has been turned off. But before I left I left it shutting down doing updates.
This is a new system purchased last month. I sent an email to Dell last week and got no response.
A friend of mine I am using his computer and Internet logged in my account. He also has an account here we do not want to reinstall the OS just yet. We are in the process of running diagnostics. I ram them last week and got an error. Cannot remember the error.

Unless you have the F6 mass storage drivers it will never boot again and it will never install windows again.
If you need data from the drives you need a USB adapter for each piece to see if anything can be recovered.
If you dont need to recover any data then you can remove the M2.
Set AHCI
Boot from OEM System builder DVD and install 10 on the HDD.
Then Remove HDD
Put M2 back and install with F6 Driver that depends on the specific drive you have.
RAID/IRST/IRRT requires F6 mass storage drivers.
This is not a soundbyte press enter 5 times single reboot Ronco Set and Forget. You need to F2 turn secure boot OFF and prepare for reinstall F12 booting from DVD or USB flash drive. There are ZERO soft fixes and repairs without known working bootable media. There are ZERO soft fixes for physically bad drives.

RAID is INTEL RST IRRT and F6 Drivers are required.

ALL drives ALL models larger than 120 gig and made after 2011 are ADVANCED FORMAT and F6 Mass storage drivers are REQUIRED for RAID install. M2 PCI-E DRIVES always REQUIRE the F6 driver because the AHCI driver in windows will not "SEE" an M2 PCI-E drive. M2 SATA Drives have 2 notches because they are AHCI SATA not PCI-E.

SATA M2 Drive can be placed in 2.5 inch SATA enclosure

PCI-E M2 requires different adapter.

sid1989,
Can you please provide us with the validation code? Also, have you tried to reseat the HDD and retest?
Looking forward to your response,

Do you only have a HDD in this PC or do you also have an SSD?
If you have an SSD, Windows should be installed on the SSD. So you could try disconnecting the SATA cable from the HDD and see if PC boots now.
At least that would get you running, until the HDD can be replaced...

@RoHe
Last week when this issue started he sent an email to dell tech support. He has gotten to response. On Friday we sent an email to the form @speedstep has in his signature. There was also no response. I personally have also used that for a problem on mine and get no response. Where does that message go to?
I too am wondering if disconnecting the hard drive will get it to boot. The system is in raid and the boot drive is m.2 ssd.
I am thinking if the 1 TB hdd failed it may be causing problems even though the ssd is the boot because it is raid.
Oh yes he did shut down the system but for some reason the system will turn on randomly after 5 minutes. We do not know why and he also said when he got some some of his digital clocks were blinking so this means the power went out.
And he just told me the system was in a loop was not booting and had that error.

Please keep in mind, we're mainly volunteers around here that don't work for Dell. Each volunteer has his/her own life and may choose to respond -or not- to PMs sent through the forum. And I have no idea how long it takes for Dell tech support to respond to messages, especially over weekends...
If the power blinked in the house, you should try clearing BIOS:
If that doesn't help, disconnect the SATA data cable from the HDD and clear BIOS again. See if it boots from the SSD now.
EDIT: It would have been useful to know about the power issue in the OP...just saying...

I understand mostly volunteers on the forum. But it was the link I was referring to that is in @speedstep
signature.
Unresolved Issues
That is the link I assume it goes to tech support? I am sure someone will know. My friend will be back later and he can confirm the power outage. Also we will try the steps you posted. And I think @DELL-Cares
Works for Dell? We still havn't gotten a reply a reply as of the time Sid left my house.

Unfortunately, the most likely cause of the Dell ePSA error code 2000-0142 is a hard disk failure.
Dell does not make systems with M2 Raid.
The system is in raid and the boot drive is m.2 ssd.
Reinstalling os requires Drivers that are not specific to windows. Samsung M2 drivers are not the same as INTEL M2 drivers etc.
UNLESS your M2 is actually SATA. In that case set sata operation to AHCI and windows will "see" the drive for reinstall.
There are no soft fixes for physically bad drives.

My system basically same as Sid's also has M.2 + 1 TB it came from Dell with Raid turned on in the BIOS. If I turn it to ACHI it will not boot.
When he got his system it was also set up in raid with a M.2 + 1 TB.
I know this I helped him first thing I always do is access the BIOS and check things out. and raid was turned on on both systems.
I have his system here but I am not gonna touch it until he get's back he had to step out.

@RoHe
The drive gives that error code I finally got tech support on the phone. They said to run the test again. And yes there was some power issue while I was gone.
My system was turning on for some reason. We found out it was Wake on LAN. We disabled wake on LAN or whatever it's called and now the system stays off.
I assume either it came on when the power came on or after the router booted back up maybe?
But there is no error with the drive disconnected. And it boots when drive is disconnected. Support said because it's in Raid it will cause it not to boot. Even if the boot drive is good.

@sid1989 My XPS 8930 has a boot 512 GB SSD and a 1T HDD. Dell set BIOS to RAID at the factory and it boots perfectly well. So I don't believe that's your problem.
If you change(d) BIOS to AHCI, it's probably not going to boot, even without the 1T HDD connected, because Win 10 was installed with RAID enabled in BIOS. And you still might not be able to get it to boot when you switch back to RAID.
Besides, you wouldn't have gotten the 2000-0142 HDD error message unless that 1T HDD failed, regardless of how BIOS is set.
Try to get Dell to replace the 1T drive, assuming PC is still under warranty. And get yourself a good surge protector too!

Startup Repair never works.
Rebuild BCD from Bootable DVD or Flash is required.
Recovery Your device needs to be repaired.
File: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
Error code: 0xc000000e
You will need bootable DVD or USB2 flash drive.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12415/windows-10-recovery-options
You may try to rebuild the BCD booting from the disc and follow these instructions:
a. Insert the installation DVD or USB2 flash and boot Windows from it.
b. In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’ and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on‘next’.
c. Click on Repair your computer.
d. Click on Troubleshoot and then selectAdvanced Options.
e. Click on Command prompt and type the following commands and pressEnter after each command:
Bootrec /fixmbr
Bootrec /fixboot
Bootrec /rebuildbcd
f. Restart the computer. Check if the issue persists.
