xps 8900 strange miscompatability
Apparently my xps 8900 motherboard, that has a LGA115x socket, does not fit my i7-4790, which has a FCLGA1150. Any clue why?

Apparently my xps 8900 motherboard, that has a LGA115x socket, does not fit my i7-4790, which has a FCLGA1150. Any clue why?

The XPS 8900 uses a Skylake Intel CPU which has a FCLGA1151 socket. The I7-4790 is a Haswell CPU and has a FCLGA1150 socket. So the socket requirements are not the same.
