BIOS update on Dell XPS 9570 - Stuck on Restarting

Hi! This morning I run the Dell SupportAssist and it suggested me to update de BIOS to the newer version. After completing the first part of the update the computer needed to restart but it's been stuck on the windows restarting screen for more that an hour. I don't know if I should keep waiting or just try to power off the computer because it seems is going to being stuck forever. Thanks.

You probably have no choice but to attempt to restart it, at this point. Just be prepared that the motherboard may become a useless brick after you attempt to reboot.  I don't know if this laptop has any BIOS Recovery Options but read that page.  And here's Dell's policy on failed BIOS updates.

If you're lucky, and the PC still boots, please do yourself a favor and immediately disable or uninstall SupportAssist. It gets more users into serious trouble...

And for the record, the XPS 9570 is a laptop, so questions about this model should be posted in the Laptop XPS forum. You posted in the Desktop forum.

Hello,

How did you eventually sort it out?

I'm stuck in the same situation.

Thanks.

Same PC model? Version of Windows?

Read the link about BIOS recovery options that I posted above, which means you'll have to force a restart. First, force it to restart and just see if it boots normally by itself. If not, force restart again and follow the recovery options.

And if that doesn't help, read the link above about Dell's BIOS policy....
