Convert Dock WD19DC into a WD19TB

I would like to convert a WD19DC into a WD19TB. So that i can use a XPS 9570 with 2*4K Monitors. According to

https://www.dell.com/support/article/de-de/sln320946/upgrading-the-wd19-dock-with-the-cable-module-customer-kit?lang=en

that should be possible with a so called "Cable Module Customer Kit." But where to buy one?

Thanks

Ralf

@Ralf Jansen  Here is a non-US product page for the item you're looking for.  According to the page, the Dell Part Number is 470-AEBS and the Manufacturer Part Number is K03PD.  But given how expensive that is, it might be more cost effective to buy a WD19TB and then have a full WD19DC unit that you can sell to someone else to offset part of the cost, rather than just having a WD19DC module that might be harder to sell.

@jphughan thanks for looking that up. Seems to only been sold in the EastAsia/Oceania region

But you are totally correct. I didn't expect it to be cheap (still needs different USB-C vs. Thunderbird electronic on it) but with that pricetag its pretty useless. Applying taxes, presumably needed here in europe, then its even more expensive than just buying a complete dock.

Funny that modularity is one of the mayor selling points on dells product page while availability/price is as it is.

@Ralf Jansen  Happy to help, although I'm sorry I didn't have better news for you.  I agree that the pricing of modularity on the WD19 dock family is odd.  Maybe the intended use case is businesses that have hundreds of these docks and a large inventory of spare power supplies for both docks and systems, and therefore want to be able to replace dead modules without having to buy a full unit that would include a new power supply they didn't need?  I was also thinking that swapping a module would allow you to keep the cables connected to the back of the dock in place, but the time to swap the module due to removing and reinstalling screws would probably be greater than the time to just move those individual cables over.  Maybe when Dell designed the WD19 dock family, they didn't realize that the modules would be this expensive, so it ended up being a good idea that simply wasn't practical to offer -- which might explain why the modules aren't more widely available.
