Dell G7 7590 new replacement battery insufficient power

I have a dell g7 7590, and i just recently bought a replacement battery. However, after plugging in the new battery, the laptop wont recognize it and just shows that it is plugged but not charging. When I removed the AC adapter, the laptop shuts off. I already tried running the diagnostic tool and it says that the battery needs to be replaced. Even though its new. I also tried uninstalling battery drivers still no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
