XPS 13 9370, uneven dimming/vertical dark/dim patch

The issue is more of a Quality Control issue.

Dell tries to increase its profits by manufacturing parts in China.

The trouble is that they have started producing sub-standard quality parts for their customers so that they can maximize the profits.

In case, we can only hope that they use the best quality materials then this sub-par defects will go away.

I have the exact same issue. I tried to get help from dell support but it was challenging since I was in a different country as purchase. It is odd because sometimes it is gone for a week and then it comes back for a week. I thought at first maybe graphics, but it is also dark during restart etc. so clearly hardware of some sort. It seems either faulty panel or maybe loose connection of some sort.

If anybody has recommendations please post. It is quite frustrating, especially at lower brightness levels.

Had those bars start showing up about a month ago and now it;s starting to flicker.  I took off the back and checked the cables - all good.   Had this happen to another at work, and Dell replaced the entire top lid, screen, and the cables inside it (problem is probably that foil covered backlight board in the lid that runs the cables between the board and LCD..   Without warranty I'm stuck with a $100 to $300 repair depending on where I find the part.  but I may have to use a docking station and external monitor now.

I've just recently getting this on screen out of nowhere. Have you found the cause or any solution?

One of the LEDs in the backlight is going bad.  There is no fix short of a display replacement.

I have the exact same issue for the past few months in the same area except mine is an XPS 15. It kind of flickers often. Really noticeable when reading/ browsing, not so much when watching videos but still there.  

I have the same issue, in the exact same spot! Mine is a XPS 9305, only 16 months old..
