XPS 13 External Monitor Stopped Working (9350)

Recently my XPS 13 stopped recognizing any external monitor connected via USB-C, It worked previously. Then stopped. I've tried two adapters, both of which work well with other laptops, so the issue is not with the physical connection.

I tried uninstalling the displaylink drivers, and downloading the latest from the displaylink website, but with no luck. I've even tried joining the windows preview programe and getting the latest version of Windows. But still no luck. Any suggestions. Is there a set of dell specific drivers I can / need to download to get this working.

It's not that it never worked - it did, but then it stopped.... weird...

I'm having the same issue.

My dell displaylink adapter was working fine yesterday, but suddenly I'm receiving a message of "Power surge on the USB port". 
I tried everything (update drivers, reinstall USB-C port drivers). The displaylink adapter worked fine in other laptops.
