XPS 15 7590 BATTERY

Hi there

I have a XPS 15 7590 which needs a new battery (EPSA test shows critical battery failure).  The spec is

5D91C Battery,Primary,56WHR,3C,Lithium,Logic

Is there a higher WHR battery that I can pick?  Where should I buy battery from any recommendations?

thanks

Yes, there is a 6-cell battery for this model.  Note, however that if your system has a 2.5" hard drive or SSD installed, it will need to be removed (and if it's the only one in the system, it needs to be replaced by an M.2 2280 SSD).

You cannot have the 6 cell battery installed alongside a 2.5" drive -- the battery takes up the space the drive would occupy.

That's not the battery - it refers to an M.2 2230 SSD. Unless there's also a second drive in the system, you can mount the 6 cell battery with no other changes required.  If there is a 2.5" drive in the system, it needs to be removed to mount the larger battery, but your SSD is your operating system drive -- so no changes to it needed.

Thanks, the laptop has the following the battery:

FWJTG: SSDR,256G,P34,30S3,TOSHIBA,BG4

So it looks like I should either replace the battery with the same or if get a 6 cell battery then also replace the SSD?

thanks

sorry silly me.. I mis-typed.  The SSD storage hard drive according to the spec is:

FWJTG: SSDR,256G,P34,30S3,TOSHIBA,BG4

So you are saying that the above SSD is considered an M.2 2230 SSD.  Out of curiosity, M.2 2230 stand for?  thanks again so much.

Thanks for the insight.  I reviewed the manual.  Looks like I would have to remove the regular hard drive caddy and to put in the a "Full Size" battery.  Since I have the M.2 2230 SSD, I wont have to touch, just need to be careful with the thermal cover when I remove the back cover.  thanks again for everything

M.2 is the connector type (just about all new SSDs in card format use it).  2230 means 22 mm wide, 30 mm in length (there are longer drives with larger capacity - up to 2280 as well.

I am trying to buy OEM battery came across two options.  Both are 6 Cell 97Whr batteries.  Would either of them be compatible with XPS 15 7590

and Dell Tech support suggested this one.
