Black Friday bait and switch
After searching these forums for an hour, it goes without saying that Dell is really dropping the ball as it comes to shipping orders. There is no doubt in my mind that Dell knew that these units wouldn't ship on time, but wanted to capitalize on the Black Friday shoppers. I placed an order on Black Friday for the Aurora R12 with i7 and a 3060 (timed deal that started 10am CST on BF). The order was placed within 5 minutes of the deal being live. This is intended to be a gift for my 10 year old this holiday (Webpage said Dec 6 delivery). Friday I got an email stating it wouldn't ship until January 6th.
For the life of me I cant understand how a company could be so unethical? This now puts hundred of people if not more, in the situation where they now have to scramble to find another gift solution for a loved one. To make matters worse, every time I have contacted support via phone or chat they have had all the same pre-typed responses ready to reply back with. Its not an acceptable customer experience and Dell should really be ashamed of themselves. AND NOW.... I try to call and get "your call cannot be completed at this time". What's up with that?
If this doesn't get sorted out immediately, I'm going to be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the FTC. As well as local government agencies.
